Evacuation and cordon up in Sunnyside in Diss after reports of gas leak

An evacuation of nearby residents and a cordon was put up in a Diss street yesterday after reports of a gas leak.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue units from Diss and Harleston as well as the police were called to Sunnyside at around 4.30pm after reports of the smell of gas.

People living near to the incident were asked to leave their homes and a 50-metre cordon shutting off the road was put up as the emergency services dealt with the issue.
