EDITORIAL: A friend in need is a friend indeed

The thought that life could change in an instant through illness is something that is never far from people’s minds, as well as who might catch them when they fall.
Our front page today shocks because the life of David Bloomfield and his family has been so drastically changed by events completely out of their control.
It is a reminder we are not always the master of our destinies.

There has already been a good response on social media from the community, and if previous fundraisers for David are anything to go by, then this area will once again rally for one of its own.
It is the simple act of helping a friend in need, and it is worth celebrating.
