Diss boy Eddie wins spec-ial glasses competition at Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care

A seven-year-old boy has his eyes on the prize after winning a competition to design a pair of glasses inspired by this year’s summer of sport.

Eddie Elvin was presented with a £50 toyshop voucher and a fun model of his design at Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care in Diss.

Youngsters were encouraged to submit their imaginative designs with a sporty theme, with all proceeds from the £1 entry fee going to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Eddie’s mum, Jesika Carpenter, said: “We were in the branch when Eddie saw the competition and he decided to take the entry form home.

“He spent most of the summer watching the Olympics and loves being creative, so it was the perfect competition for him.

“We are delighted that he won and Eddie is really proud to see his sporty spectacles design come to life.”
