Vintage Fashion and Furnishings Sale at Diss Auction Rooms
A Vintage Fashion and Furnishings Sale will bring eastern delights to Diss Auction Rooms for those with a taste for the Orient.
Taking place on Saturday, June 16, the TW Gaze sale will see private consignors put their fashionable pieces up for auction.
The items originate from Japan, India, Persia, China and beyond.
These include kimonos, paisley silk and wool shawls, silk curtains, woven and embroidered loose linen panels and hangings, a lady’s floor-length coat embroidered with flowering tendrils, wall-hangings and curtain panels, and more.
Sale organiser Debra Brown said she has also attracted some giants of the fashion world.
“Taking centre stage is a Christina Valencia evening gown with shawl, a vintage Gucci red silk evening dress, some 'state of the art' tailoring by Jean Muir, and a 1970s Ossie Clark brown silk georgette dress,” she said.
"Our selection of interior furnishings is a melting pot of design."
Interior furnishings will be headlined by some curtains by David Hicks, the pioneering interior designer in London during 1960s and 70s.
Viewing will be on Thursday between 2pm and 8pm, on Friday between 10am and 6pm, and on morning of the sale from 8.30am.
