Applications are being welcomed for two vacant councillor positions at Eye Town Council.

Clerk to the council Roz Barnett said it was a big year for the town. A Lottery bid for the town hall is being prepared, a 20mph zone is to be introduced into the town, while the council is in partnership with Mid Suffolk and Suffolk County Councils to improve town services.

“Eye Town Council is a real go-ahead council to work for and there are lots of exciting projects to get involved with, and people can make a difference,” she said. “It is very fun and it is an interesting role.”

Simon Hooton and Klaus Gleissberg have stood down from the council.

For more or an application pack, contact Roz Barnett, town clerk, on 07713 196251, or by emailing townclerk@eyesuffolk.org. Closing date for applications is July 11.
