Diss charity store aims to reopen ‘as soon as possible’ after ‘electrical issues’
A charity store in Diss which has been closed due to “electrical issues” is hopeful of opening “as soon as possible”, according to a spokesperson.
The YMCA store, which sits in Mere Street and opened in the August of last year. It has also had a front window damaged, although it is not known how it was caused, while film has been placed over the damaged area of the window to make it safe.
A sign on the door reads: “Due to electrical issues we are closed until further notice.”
A spokesperson for YMCA England told the Diss Express: “To confirm, we have had to shut the shop due to electrical problems and repairs have unfortunately been delayed due to the holiday period.
“An electrician has visited the shop today (Tuesday) and is returning to hopefully complete repairs tomorrow. “Once the work has been completed, we will reopen as soon as possible.
“During the closure, the front window was also damaged.
“We sadly do not know how this happened, but the problem was spotted by a volunteer who was passing.
“We are looking to get the glass replaced as soon as possible, and a temporary fix is currently in place.
“We would like to thank customers for their patience and ongoing support.”
