Dinsdale calls on residents to help clear up Diss ahead of festive period


Dinsdale, star of Mere Quacks and Diss Town Carnival Mascot, is inviting residents to spare an hour or two later this month in a bid to get the town tidy ahead of the festive period

People are asked to meet at Diss Youth and Community Centre in Shelfanger Road between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, November 29.

Freebies will be on offer courtesy of South Norfolk Council, while there will also be an opportunity to have a photo with Dinsdale.

Equipment and refreshments will be provided.

Diss Town Mayor Julian Mason, who is co-ordinating the event this year, and said: “Please spare an hour of your day to come along and help clean up our wonderful market town ahead of Christmas. I am hoping to see more than 50 volunteers this year to beat previous years’ targets.”

The RSPCA receives 7,000 litter-related calls.
