A Breckland Council-led initiative aimed at improving the wellbeing of people with dementia and their carers has been extended for another six months.
The Our Day Out project was launched in January 2015 and is delivered in partnership with local charity, Creative Arts East, which allows for monthly activities, including dancing, day visits and music sessions.
Since launch, 74 people have attended at least one of the sessions. The programme initially received funding from Norfolk’s Health and Wellbeing Board for a 12-month pilot, due to close in April.
But it will be extended for a further six months, thanks to Breckland Council funding.
Cllr Lynda Turner, Breckland’s Executive Member for Place. “People have told us it has made a big difference, which is why we thought it was important to extend the pilot.”
