Delays expected at Victoria Road and Sawmills Road junction in Diss for traffic lights replacement

Work to replace traffic lights at a Diss junction will cost £95,000 and take 20 days to complete, according to Norfolk Highways.

The work at the junction of Victoria Road with Sawmills Road is due to start on April 6.

This is part of a countywide traffic signal replacement programme which involves updating traffic lights where necessary to ensure they continue to meet current standards and work reliably and efficiently.

The junction will remain open at all times, with lane restrictions and three-way temporary traffic lights in place during the works.

The work will be carried out in stages; to remove the old equipment and cables, install new underground infrastructure, install new traffic signal equipment and cables, and once in place the new lights will be tested and monitored over a number of weeks to ensure the new lights are working as intended.

The work which will cost £95,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
