Debenham fashion show earns over £1,700 for two charities

A charity fashion show staged recently in north Suffolk has raised more than £1,700 for two different causes.

Around 160 people turned out to watch the event, the second of its kind to be held at the Debenham Community Centre, which was organised by Dream On, a Community Interest Company, in support of the Friends of Debenham Sport and Leisure and The Blossom Charity.

In addition to showcasing designs from many clothes lines sold at the Dream On shop, the show also told the stories of women involved in the development programme which the company runs.

Bridget McIntyre, founder of Dream On, said: “This was a fantastic partnership with Debenham Community Centre and I’m so delighted with the achievements of everyone at the fashion show.

“The money raised will contribute to the Blossom Charity, which makes it possible for women to benefit from the training, coaching and style sessions that Dream On provides.

“Increasing confidence and achieving your dreams is no easy task and these women have managed to achieve this and conquer their fears in the process.”

She also thanked various local organisations and Dream On’s “very valued supporters” for their help with the show.
