Darts teams from The Cap in Harleston raise thousands in 12-hour challenge

A darts marathon and fun day raised thousands of pounds for a cancer charity.

The A and B teams at The Cap in Harleston completed a 12-hour non-stop challenge on April 13, with £4,040 going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organiser Vicki Hirst said that they had raised more than £1,300 before even throwing a dart.

“The whole day was brilliant,” she said. “At one point, it was standing room only – inside and outside the pub.

“A huge thank you to everyone who came along or sponsored us. The support from the pub and the community was way over and above anything we expected. I am so proud to live in Harleston – what a town.”

Alongside the darts marathon, children took part in a design a flight competition, with adults trying a 60-second challenge to hit as many bullseyes, and a highest score contest with six darts.
