Daring mouse climbs six feet of garden fencing to get his paws on bird feed

A pensioner from Diss could not believe his eyes after seeing a daring mouse manage to climb up six feet of garden fencing to get its paws on some bird feed.

Former builder Barry Pochin, from Frenze Road, managed to capture the moment the industrious rodent scaled the trellis in his garden before popping its head into the bird feeder.

“It must have been doing it for quite some time,” said Mr Pochin.

“I kept wondering why my seed was going down, because I hadn’t seen any birds eating it.

“I could watch it for ages – it’s so comical to look at.”

The 76-year-old added: “There’s a whole family but they used to feed off the ground.

“But this one climbed up my trellis to the feed, so it’s a very clever little mouse.”
