Snetterton circuit hotel plans approved by Breckland Council

A Norfolk racetrack is set to expand with a new “landmark” hotel and simulation centre.

Plans to build guest accommodation next to Snetterton circuit have been approved by Breckland Council.

The proposals were put together by MotorSport Vision, which runs the racetrack, and include new offices, research facilities and a state-of-the-art simulation centre, offering virtual driving experiences.

The four-storey hotel with an integrated cafe will provide visitors to the circuit with accommodation on track days or during events and is hoped to boost the local economy.

The circuit sits on a former RAF airfield. It saw its first race more than 70 years ago.

It now hosts rounds of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car, Bennetts British Superbike and British GT Championships, as well as festivals and car shows.

While there are currently camping facilities at Snetterton circuit, these new plans will see a 135-bedroom hotel erected to offer a new kind of accommodation for guests.

The new facilities will be built on a 33-acre site adjacent to the existing circuit.
