Coronavirus Daily: UK reported confirmed cases continue to decrease

The amount of UK reported coronavirus cases has seen another drop, according to Public Health England figures.

Released yesterday for the previous 24-hour period, the numbers saw a fourth daily drop in a row, now at 3,996, following 4,310, 4,463 and 4,913 before it.

But the number of COVID-19 associated deaths in hospitals recorded in the same period did see a rise from 360 to 586, bringing the total number of UK reported deaths to 21,678.

Norfolk saw 31 more positive cases, totalling 1,386 in the area so far and Suffolk had a rise of 51, bringing its total so far to 987.

The total number of laboratory confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK is now at 161,145.
