Coronavirus daily: Suffolk passes 400 confirmed cases as Norfolk nears 600
As the UK became the fifth country to surpass 10,000 deaths from the coronavirus, joining the likes of the USA, France, Spain and Italy, Suffolk passed another of its own milestones, with Norfolk nearing another too.
Public Health England figures from 5pm last night, showed Norfolk has reported 595 positive cases, an increase of 56 in the last 24-hour period, with Suffolk also seeing a rise of 27, taking the county's count to 422.
The amount of reported positive cases in the UK for the period was 5,288.
The total amount confirmed cases now standing at 84,279.
England has had 66,330 cases, Scotland with 5,912, Wales with 5,297 and Northern Ireland with 1,806.
Daily deaths in hospitals saw a drop - down from 917 in the previous period to 737 in this one, but the total of deaths in the UK did pass 10,000 - with the figure now at 10,612.
