Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be taking today's coronavirus briefing for the first time since returning to work on Monday and his fiancee giving birth to their son.

Mr Johnson and Carrie Symonds welcomed their new arrival on Wednesday at a NHS hospital in London.

The Prime Minister is set to be heavily questioned on the government's target to do 100,000 daily coronavirus tests before the end of April, which was set out by Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

It is believed though that the government is just only about half way towards that target.

Figures from Public Health England, which now includes counts of all deaths where a positive test for COVID-19 has been confirmed, showed there had been 765 deaths in the reported 24-hour period.

There had been 4,076 daily confirmed cases, with Norfolk now having 1,427 cases so far and Suffolk having 999.

The total number of laboratory confirmed cases of the virus in the UK so far stands at 165,221.
