Coronavirus Daily: PM set to discuss lifting more restrictions as he confirms reopening of primary schools
Boris Johnson is set to meet with his cabinet today to start to look at the details of possibly easing more restrictions.
The Prime Minister will discuss options including the reopening of non-essential shops next month.
One thing Mr Johnson did confirm in his daily briefing yesterday was that primary schools would reopen for Reception, Year One and Year Six pupils from June 1.
He said: "The education of our children is crucial for their welfare, their health, for their long term future and for social justice.
"We want to get our children back in the classroom in a way which is manageable an as safe as possible."
Yesterday's figures from Public Health England showed Norfolk's positive cases over the last reported 24-hour period rose by 23, to 2,123 so far, with Suffolk reporting 14 new cases, taking its total to 1,445.
The UK's daily figure for confirmed cases was 2,409, down from 2,959 in the previous 24-hour reporting period, and UK daily deaths was 118.
