Coronavirus Daily: Norfolk at more than 1,600 total cases as NHS director says peak of admissions has passed

Professor Stephen Powis has said the peak of hospital admission has passed in the government's briefing yesterday.

The medical director for NHS England also said the test of a contact tracing app, which is set to be tested on the Isle of Wight next week, was just one of the ways the country would move into the next stage of fighting the coronavirus.

Figures from Public Health England yesterday, which now includes counts of all deaths where a positive test for COVID-19 has been confirmed, reported 315 deaths in the last reported 24-hour.

Norfolk now has had a total of 1,626 confirmed cases so far, with Suffolk's total so far at 1,105 and the UK's total daily confirmed count at 4,339.
