Coronavirus Daily: Norfolk total positive cases more than 1,800 as public asked to continue with measures
Environment secretary George Eustice has asked the public to continue to follow lockdown measures this weekend ahead of an update from the Prime Minister on Sunday.
After reviewing the current measures with his cabinet during the week, Mr Johnson will brief the public about the way forward.
Mr Eustice said, when questioned during the government's daily briefing yesterday, that the public needed to be realistic and that there would be no 'dramatic change overnight'.
This came after figures from Public Health England yesterday, which now includes counts of all deaths where a positive test for COVID-19 has been confirmed, showing there had been 626 deaths in the last reported 24-hour.
Norfolk now has had a total of 1,835 confirmed cases so far, with Suffolk's total so far at 1,235 and the UK's total daily confirmed count at 4,649.
The total number of laboratory confirmed cases of the virus in the UK so far stands at 211,364.
