Coronavirus Daily: Norfolk has single daily case as PM announces the return of shops and showrooms

At the daily briefing yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said open markets and car showrooms would following primary schools by reopening on June 1.

Mr Johnson also said that non-essential stores could also open their doors from June 15, but had to follow government guidelines to protect their customers and workers.

He said: "Shops now have the time to implement this guidance before they reopen.

"I want people to be confident that they can shop safely, provided they follow the social distancing rules for all premises."

Yesterday's figures from Public Health England showed Norfolk had one daily positive cases over the last reported 24-hours, taking its total so far to 2,124, with Suffolk reporting 19 new cases, with total of 1464.

The UK's daily figure for confirmed cases was 1,625 and the UK's daily deaths was 121.
