Coronavirus Daily: Norfolk and Suffolk see equal rises in daily positive cases

As Public Health England figures showed a drop in daily death and positive cases across the UK, Norfolk and Suffolk both showed the same amount of new cases in the recorded 24-hour period.

Figures from yesterday showed Norfolk and Suffolk both had rises of 40 positive cases, with Norfolk now totalling 1,355 and Suffolk at 936.

The number of COVID-19 associated deaths in hospitals recorded in the previous 24-hour period saw another drop for a second day, with the figure at 360.

That now takes the total number of deaths so far to 21,092.

The amount of reported positive cases in the UK as a whole for the period has also seen a drop for a third day in a row – 4,310 – compared to 4,463 and 4,913 before it.

That takes the total number of laboratory confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK so far to 157,149.
