Coronavirus daily: Norfolk and Suffolk confirmed cases rise as country sees highest amount of daily deaths so far

As the country is being asked to enjoy the warm weather this weekend from our homes and gardens, the nation has seen the highest number of daily deaths from coronavirus so far.

Figures from Public Health England last night, showed there had been 684 deaths over the previous 24-hour period, with daily positive cases standing at 4,450.

Norfolk now has 225 confirmed cases, a rise of 18, with Suffolk having another four cases, taking their tally from 157 to 161.

The total amount of UK confirmed cases now stands at 38,168 - England has had 31,797 cases, Scotland with 3,001, Wales 2,466 and Northern Ireland with 904.

Total deaths from the virus across the UK is now at 3,605.

Suffolk now has the same amount of cases as Nottingham and Norfolk has one more than Manchester and Gloucestershire, but one less than Dudley.
