Coronavirus daily: Hopes for more testing by the end of the month
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the government is aiming at the end of the month to be carrying out 100,000 coronavirus tests a day in England.
This comes after the government has been criticised for not being quicker with the roll out of testing compared to other country's such as Germany.
At the moment, only around 10,000 tests are being carried out daily.
Figures from Public Health England at 5pm last night, showed there have been 569 deaths in the UK over the previous 24-hour period.
The total amount of UK confirmed cases was now at 33,718, with 569 deaths in the last 24-hour period.
England has now had 28,221 cases, Scotland 2,602, Wales 2,121 and Northern Ireland with 774.
Norfolk now has 207 confirmed cases, whereas Suffolk has 157.
Total deaths from the virus across the UK is now at 2,921.
