Coronavirus daily: Boris Johnson admitted to hospital for more tests
Prime Minister Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital last night to have more tests after still feeling the effects of the Coronavirus.
A Downing Street spokesman said: "This is a precautionary step, as the Prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive,
"The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government's advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives."
It was also said that he still remains in charge of the Government, and is in contact with ministerial colleagues and officials.
Figures from Public Health England last night, showed there had been 621 deaths over the previous 24-hour period, lower than the previous 24-hour period, with daily positive cases standing at 5,914.
Norfolk now has 279 confirmed cases, a rise of 25 - which is lower than yesterday, and Suffolk now has another 40 cases, 10 higher than yesterday, with 231.
The total amount of UK confirmed cases now stands at 47,806 - England has had 39,814 cases, Scotland with 3,706, Wales 3,197 and Northern Ireland with 1,089.
Total deaths from the virus across the UK is now at 4,934.
