Residents urged to check brown bin collection dates
South Norfolk Council is changing the date some brown bins are collected.
The council says that, from November 5, the day that brown bins are emptied could be changing as its garden waste service has proven so popular.
Cabinet member Kay Mason Billig said: “Every week, we collect around 200 tonnes of grass and hedge cuttings and leaves to help keep South Norfolk looking neat and tidy.
“Now our rounds have become so busy that, with more than 25,000 customers, our lorries are getting close to their allowed weight limits.
“By reorganising the routes, we can continue to offer the garden waste service to our existing customers and have space to allow more residents to take advantage of this great scheme.”
South Norfolk Council will be writing to garden waste customers letting them know if their day will change. People can also visit the website to see their next bin collection day by visiting My Account at www.south-norfolk.gov.uk. There are no changes to the day refuse and recycling, black and green bins are emptied.
