Hope Church in Diss seeks nominations for Love Gives campaign

Hope Church is seeking nominations for people who have undergone difficulties and would appreciate a surprise gift this Christmas.

The church, which meets in Diss and Harleston, is running a Love Gives campaign for the third year.

Church Leader Graham Blake said: “This is the third year we’ve run this campaign – it really is all about putting love into action and I love seeing the responses, both from those receiving the gifts but also those nominating deserving individuals. People are always so keen to nominate and give funding and those receiving the gifts have been absolutely delighted."

Graham Blake of Hope Church said they have been running this campaign for four years.

One recipient of last year’s gifts sent an email to the church saying: “We have had a tough year and few people know, as we have kept our troubles close. I would like you to know how much your huge, beautiful and thoughtful gifts have meant to us, we are all totally awestruck. Thank you does not seem enough, but we thank you all so much.”

Last year’s gifts included luxury food hampers, bottles of wine, flowers, deluxe toiletries, vouchers for restaurants or days out, children’s toys, clothing and even a foot spa.

All nominations are anonymous and confidential.

Nominations are open until November 30 and gifts will be delivered between December 20 and 23.
