Diss Baptist Church celebrate inaugural 'Life Fest'




Parishioners brought the holy spirit to Diss Park on Saturday as Diss Baptist Church hosted its inaugural Life Fest.

Organisers from the church, which has seen dwindling attendances since the pandemic, decided to put on the mini-festival to lift spirits.

“A lot of people have struggled to come back to church after the pandemic,” said lead pastor Jonathan Armstrong.

“Some people are worried about Covid and others have just got out of the habit, so we thought, ‘why not bring the church to them?’

Two Christian musical outfits – East Anglia pop-rockers World Without End and soloist Joe Aiken – took to the stage as hundreds of visitors passed through the park.

One churchgoer, amateur magician Bob Torry, weaved some of his magic tricks with Bible stories to keep audiences entertained.

“It had a great festival vibe and seemed to be really appreciated by the community,” said Mr Armstrong. “We would like to go even bigger next year.”
