This year’s community Christmas show at Diss Corn Hall has an especially local feel.

The authors of The Perils of Pinocchio are renowned Suffolk theatre makers Pat Whymark and Julian Harries.

Whymark was one of the founders of touring company Eastern Angles, and set up her own touring company called Common Ground.

A massive cast of all ages from the local community will be on stage, and this version expands upon the five-actor show that has previously been well received.

Director of the Corn Hall show, Mark Finbow, said: “I’ve worked with Pat and Julian numerous times and saw their production of Pinocchio a few years ago.

“I laughed a lot.

“It’s brilliant, quirky Christmas fun for the whole family.”

Whymark has also composed music for many theatres locally, including the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds.

The Perils of Pinnochio runs tonight at 7.30pm, and again on Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 4pm.

Tickets can be bought from www.disscornhall.co.uk or via the box office on 01379 652241.

Adult tickets are £9 and under 16s get in for £7. A family ticket of two adults and two children is £30. And that’s not a lie!
