Discord, a wellbeing choir, puts spotlight on two charities with Diss Corn Hall concerts
A choir celebrating its 14th anniversary has donated more than £9,000 to a pair of charities.
Discord, a wellbeing choir, staged two sold-out charity concerts titled ‘When You Believe’ at The Corn Hall, in Diss, in November.
The choir’s chosen charities for the two performances were Cancer Research UK and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
With £2,638 donated by Suffolk Building Society and funds boosted by charity hamper raffles held at the performances, the final total raised was £9,171.
Michael Dann, Discord’s founder, said: “The members loved every minute performing these concerts, which sold out over six weeks before the dates.
“To have raised this amount while having fun is truly amazing.”
The choir, which has two groups in Diss, has raised more than £50,000 for various good causes since its formation in January 2011.
