A140 crash: Overturned crane lorry causes miles of tailbacks through yesterday evening and this morning
Drivers on the A140 have been delayed and diverted since yesterday afternoon after a crane truck weighing more than 50 tonnes overturned.
The incident, which happened at around 3pm, caused miles of tailbacks as the overturned vehicle blocked both lanes of the road and brought traffic to a halt.
Efforts to remove the vehicle continued into the night, with road repairs following soon after, with a plan to fully reopen the road at around 10am this morning.
Part of the A140 remains closed for resurfacing and repairs near Stonham at the time of writing, with the vehicle having now been removed.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
A second smaller crash on the A140 near Brome this morning has only added to delays along the road as motorist seek to bypass the stretch near Stonham.
