South Norfolk Police are offering motorists the chance to further deter potential thieves with free catalytic converter marking.

Motorists will have the chance to get vehicles marked at Treadfirst in Diss between Tuesday, March 25 and Tuesday, April 8. Drivers will need to make an appointment first by calling 01379 651976 and marking will take around five minutes. It comes in the wake of a number of recent thefts, with vans, 4x4s and people carriers mainly targeted.

PCSO Jamie Burgess, from the local policing in Diss, said: “The converters will be marked with the vehicle’s registration number with specialist equipment, making it harder for thieves to dispose of.”

Drivers interested in the offer should contact Treadfirst, The Old Maltings, Vinces Road, Diss IP22 4HG, and make an appointment.
