Organisers of Eye Family Fun Day call for help to keep event running
Vikings, birds of prey, and a whole host of other activities are set to entertain visitors at the family fun day in Eye later this month.
But, organisers have launched an urgent appeal for help to run the event - which drew in 2,000 visitors last year.
"We really need people's help," said Kim Crispin, one of the event's organiser.
"Realistically, we only have a handful of people who organise and help to run what is quite a large event.
"With the fun day getting bigger and better year-on-year, it's starting to become a real struggle for us."
The Eye Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday, August 26, from 11pm at the Eye Community Centre in Magdalen Street.
Visitors can expect to enjoy viking-themed activities, birds of prey, Green men morris dancers, a fun fair, a produce competition, live music, horses, donkeys, inflatables, car boot, a dog show, classic cars, 490th bomb group and more at the free-to-enter event.
There will be a variety of stalls, some of which will be raising money for charity and others gathering funds the community centre itself.
A hog roast, and fish and chips, will also be on offer for peckish visitors.
The event is sponsored by Kings Farm boarding kennels and cattery, Harrison and Edge estate agents, Life and Sole and Skinners.
"The fun day is really popular and has ran for the last four years," added Mrs Crispin.
"It is attracting more and more people, and we need volunteers to help out on the day.
"It takes a lot of work to make it happen, but we don't get any help at the moment. It would be nice to get some younger people to take part.
"If we can't find the support we need from the community, we may not be able to continue with the show for next year."

The event £10 for a stall holder, and £5 for car booters.
