Café 24 at Stonham Barns Park wins Best Café in England’s Business Awards
A village café, which was the lifelong dream of its owner’s late mother, has been crowned the number one at a business awards ceremony.
Café 24, at Stonham Barns Park, took home the Best Café award in England’s Business Awards, staged at the Radisson Blue Hotel at Stansted Airport last weekend.
It was recently enhanced and revamped, with a complete remodel and fresh outdoor seating area.
Sarah Shaw, owner of Café 24, said it was to emerge victorious.
“It’s so overwhelming,” she said. “I am so proud of my team and of everything that we have done together.
“The whole process of opening the business has been a rollercoaster ride, in a good way.
“We have all had so much fun bringing good food and company to our customers and we do want to continue to build on our success in the future. It’s what we all love doing.
“I put this café together as a tribute to my mum, who was my role model and inspiration. It’s a dream to be able to follow in her footsteps.
“This award is for my lovely mum – we did it.”
Mrs Shaw, who was born in London and moved to Stonham Aspal from Essex, runs Café 24 alongside her husband, Robert.
She was accompanied by her whole team at the awards ceremony.
The business uses as much seasonal food and locally-sourced ingredients as it can, reflecting its countryside location.
Visitors can dine in, eat outside in the new seating area or make use of its takeaway option.
It serves a range of freshly-made cakes and savoury classics, including a variety of paninis; ham, egg and chips; a lasagne and a Sunday roast.
