Diss Sawmills Road Burger Jam van moves in to Ampersand Brew Tap kitchen space

A burger van, which has been run from a vintage horsebox for the last 18 months, has moved into a permanent kitchen space at a Diss brewery.

Burger Jam had been based just outside Ampersand Brew Tap in Sawmills Road on Thursdays, while also catering for weddings and events, and has built a large and loyal following since opening in 2021.

When the brewery offered Burger Jam owners Shaun Sanford-Green and Liam Fisher, both 35 and from Diss, a chance to move in to the brewery kitchen permanently, the pair jumped at the chance.

“We spent 18 months on the road doing events, but were always set up outside the brewery on Thursdays and that became our busiest day,” said Shaun.

“We offer a great product and there wasn’t a lot available in Diss in terms of street food, especially burgers.

“Once they made the offer, we jumped at the chance because we get along really well with them and it allows us to expand.

“We have gone from offering three types of burger to 10, and we offer sides and deserts, too.

“Customers can either phone ahead to order or just pick up a burger while enjoying a beer.”
