Three men have been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production after police uncovered a large scale cannabis factory in Occold yesterday.

A police spokesperson said a “considerable amount” of growing equipment had been seized, while it is thought the cannabis found could have an estimated street value of £350,000 to £400,000.

The Suffolk drugs team and pro-active Scorpion teams from the central and west of the county carried out the warrant and discovered more than 2,000 cannabis plants being grown in a farm building there.

Three men were found inside and all three were arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.

A 31-year-old man from Westerham in Kent, a 43-year-old from Orpington in Kent and another man aged 49, of no fixed abode, were

taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. They have been interviewed before being bailed to return to police on March 16 to allow further enquiries to be carried out.
