New boutique proposed for Diss high street
A town’s high street could soon see a new clothing shop open.
A planning application has been submitted for the vacant building at 15a Mere Street in Diss, proposing to change the current front office into a retail shop.
In one of the submitted documents, applicant Caitlin Seale states that she intends to convert the site into a second-hand, sustainable boutique and dress agency.
Miss Seale said: “The shop will give the local community the opportunity to be able to sell clothes and accessories they no longer need, as well as buy items from brands not currently on the high street.”
The planning application states that there will not be any structural changes to the inside or outside of the building.
The front room on the first floor would be used as the shop space and the rest of the rooms as storage.
Proposed opening hours for the business are Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm, and two people would be employed full-time.
The application for planning permission was submitted to South Norfolk Council last Wednesday and is expected to ruled on in the coming weeks.
