Big ‘Draw Off’ pits Diss High School against Hartismere students
Teams from two high schools will pit their artistic skills against one another at the second annual ‘Draw Off’ in Diss tomorrow, coinciding with the start of the world’s biggest drawing festival.
The reigning champions of Diss High School face newcomers from Hartismere School in Eye, when crafts shop Designermakers@21, in St Nicholas Street, hosts a contest based on the theme of the Big Draw Festival - ‘Every Drawing Tells a Story’.
Clare Birks, of Designermakers@21, told the Diss Express: “We are very excited the schools have agreed to participate. It’s a huge festival and a privilege to take part.
“From the point of view of the schools, it’s hugely beneficial and quite demanding.”
The ‘Draw Off’, which is being supported by the Diss Tesco store and Cupiss Letterpress, runs 6pm-9pm.
The store is also hosting a ‘drop-in’ drawing workshop for adults and children, next Saturday, from 11am-3pm.
Entry to both events is free, although those wishing to attend the Draw-Off should book with the Diss Corn Hall box office on 01379 652241.
