Bereavement sessions aimed at helping people cope with the loss of a loved one will return to Diss and Attleborough next month.

Run by Rosedale Funeral Home, an initial run of eight free weekly sessions will be launched on Tuesday, May 5.

Liz Chapman, qualified bereavement group facilitator who will lead the sessions, told the Diss Express: “Grief affects us in many different ways and it can be especially difficult to cope if you’ve no-one close to talk to.

“There are many myths surrounding grief – that time heals all wounds and that you must bury your feelings and be strong for others – and people say that you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to accomplish that.

“Grief isn’t something that’s often discussed and it can be a huge relief for people to talk to others about their experiences.

“The feedback we’ve had so far has been very positive.”

The eight weekly sessions will start on Tuesday, May 5 at Yard House, High Street, Attleborough from 10am until noon, or at Rosedale House, 63 Victoria Road, Diss, also on Tuesday, May 5, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Further information, and help with transport, is available by contacting Rosedale Funeral Home, either Lorraine at Diss on 01379 640810, Mark at Attleborough on 01953 452538.
