Starston Bellringers start 2019 with traditional peal
Bellringers in Starston welcomed the new year with open arms and the soft chiming of bells.
The bells at St Margaret’s Church have not been rung since July due to renovation work, but, with special permission, the bellringers were allowed to play their traditional peal.
Afterwards, they staged Meet and Mardle, giving villagers an opportunity to get together and wish each other a happy new year.
The art of bell ringing can be taught in five weeks and anyone interested in joining the volunteers should call Herbert Websdell on 01379 853967.
