Artists come together to curate Diss Corn Hall exhibition focusing on women

An exhibition celebrating national and international female artists has opened at The Corn Hall in Diss.

The Being Woman show opened to mark International Women’s Day and features work from the likes of Paula Rego, Eileen Cooper, Maggi Hambling and Celia Paul.

The exhibition includes sculptures, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, painting, photography, video and collage.

Each artist explores the histories and subjectivities of what it is to be a woman.

Founder and exhibition curator Annette Rolston said: “The idea began with myself and a couple of women artist friends wanting to come together for mutual support, inspiration and exhibiting opportunities.

“But it evolved organically into an essential network of 16 women sharing similar values and offering support.”
