The incident happened near the junction with Quaker Lane, when a grey Fiat 500 travelling towards Diss left the road and collided with a tree.

Police officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward, and are seeking any dashcam evidence from around the time.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have information concerning the driving manner of the Fiat prior to the incident.”

Police would like to talk to the drivers of a dark BMW 1 Series, a five-door Ford Fiesta, a blue Peugeot 307 and a white Ford Transit van that were seen in the area at the time.
