Alburgh chimney fire battled for an hour


Fire crews from Harleston and Long Stratton battled a chimney fire in Alburgh for an hour yesterday morning.

It happened in Low Road, at about 8.17am.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews using hand appliances cut away a lintel which was on fire to extinguish,

“A thermal image camera was used to check the fire was all out.”

No one was reported to have been hurt in the incident.
