Minors and Brady Estate Agency puts down roots in Diss with community ethos at its heart
A new business has enjoyed a strong opening two months after setting up shop in Diss high street.
Estate agency Minors and Brady opened its doors in Mere Street at the end of February, and has been busy establishing itself as part of the community in the weeks since.
The Diss branch is the eighth location in Norfolk and Suffolk for the business, which was founded in 2014 by Norfolk-born pair Jamie Minors and Alex Brady.
Branch manager Nicola Hembling said the town and the wider area had a lot of appeal for buyers.
“Diss has such a unique charm, with the Heritage Triangle and the beautiful mere, which I think most of us here take for granted,” she said.
Having grown up in Gissing and attended Diss High School before settling in Harleston, the 39-year-old knows better than most what it is that attracts people to live here.
“It is such a safe town, with a very strong community feel, which, in the short time that we have been here, we feel lucky to be a part of,” she told the Diss Express.
The branch has already promised to donate 10 per cent of its first year’s profits, with a minimum of £3,000 set to be split between East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (Each) and Pact animal sanctuary – and its efforts will not stop there.
“We are keen to get involved wherever we can and have already signed up for this year’s carnival,” said Nicola.
“We will have our own stall and will be decorating our window as part of the celebrations.
“It is a big thing for us as a business and for me personally, having lived locally to Diss for a long time and knowing quite a few people around here, to know that we can make a difference.”
Nicola said the team at Minors and Brady hoped the new branch could be the start of a long association with the town.
“We would like to thank everyone for welcoming us to Diss and for helping with our success so far,” she added. “We are continuing to grow our team here so that we can help as many people as we can to find their perfect homes.”
