A140 Long Stratton to see more traffic lights and a road closure as bypass work continues

Temporary traffic lights and an overnight road closure are set for a town’s A road as work continues on its new bypass.

Two-way traffic lights signals will be in place on the A140, at Long Stratton, at the junction with Church Lane, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, from tomorrow (January 24) to Monday (January 27), and from 7am to 7pm on Tuesday (January 28) to January 31.

On dates not specified above, short-term two-way traffic lights may also be used periodically to allow plant movements across the A140 in the vicinity of Church Lane between 7am and 5pm.

Temporary two-way traffic signals will also be in place at the junction with Parkers Lane, from 9.30am to 3.30pm between February 3 and 5.

Road closure

A complete road closure of the A140, between TCG Scaffolding Services and the junction with Wood Lane, will take place from 8pm on February 5, until 6am on February 6.

Aspects of the work are weather dependent, so an additional overnight closure could also take place from 8pm on February 6, until 6am the following day – but Norfolk County Council hopes this can be avoided.

A signed diversion will be in place and access to properties within the closure will be maintained.

The county council said this work was essential to facilitate the delivery of the new Long Stratton Bypass.
