DISS EXPRESS LAUNCHES FAIR DEAL CAMPAIGN
The Diss Express is today launching a new campaign.
We want to see the best for the town.
We too often hear that Diss is overlooked, dying on its feet, the forgotten town, and that unpopular developments are yet another nail in its coffin.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will be running a series of articles under the banner: A Fair Deal for Diss.
Recently, parallels have been drawn between the fortunes of Diss and Stowmarket in neighbouring Suffolk.
Both are on a mainline station between London and Norwich.
One has seen major investment in solving problems in and around the town.
The other has seen residents and workers struggle on a daily basis to get around.
But it is not just traffic that eats away at the heart of Diss and its neighbouring parishes.
Things such as access to health care and community and leisure facilities are also a cause for concern.
With A Fair Deal for Diss, we aim to set the context, paint a true picture of the town as it is today and look at ways in which it might fulfil its potential, all while analysing and questioning any obstacles that may be in its way.
We believe Diss deserves better.
We believe investment is the key.
