Tibenham receives playground thanks to local business

A village has a new playground thanks to a significant charitable donation.

Families in Tibenham have been enjoying the equipment, which was opened to the public after a £5,000 donation was made towards its construction by The Simpson McCreath Trust.

The trust is a prominent supporter of initiatives in the local community and is the charitable arm of maltings company Simpsons Malt, which has a base in Tivetshall St Margaret, less than three miles from the playground.

Richard Simpson, trustee of the trust and vice-chairman of Simpsons Malt, said: “The trust exists to support a wide variety of organisations and projects close to our maltings.

“When Tracy got in touch with us about the new community playground at Tibenham – a stone’s throw from our Tivetshall St Margaret site – we were only too happy to support it.”

Tracy Allin-Baker, who spearheaded the project, said: “We are so very lucky to have received funding from the trust.

“There are no playgrounds in the surrounding two villages, so having this to walk and cycle to rather than going in the car to the nearest playground is just wonderful.”
