South Norfolk Council is set to invest £250,000 in play areas across the district.
It comes following inspections carried out by the authority, and in response to requests from local communities.
The five chosen facilities include Sycamore Way and Shreeves Road in Diss, Papillon Road and Bramble Way in Wymondham and Admirals Way, Hethersett.
Work will range from a general tidy up of the site, to complete refurbishment. It will start in September, allowing the play areas to be open to children and families during the summer period.
South Norfolk Council cabinet member, Kay Mason Billig said: “The Council understands the health and wellbeing benefits that children get from play and keeping active.
“We are investing in our existing play areas, providing children with challenging and exciting activities and communities with a valuable asset that can be used for many years to come.”
