Parisian rap opened the show at Norwich Theatre Royal on Tuesday night – proving just what an influence the ‘Jersey Boys’ have had on popular music in the last 65 years.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were one of the most successful bands in pop history - and the only group to have a Top 100 Billboard hit each decade between the 1950s and the 1990s. But little was known of the story behind the records until the creation of award-winning musical Jersey Boys, which has now been seen by over 20 million people worldwide.

This fast-paced show combines the glitz and glamour of the stage with the heartache of what was left behind for these men from the wrong side of the tracks to become such a global success. It charts mob connections, broken marriages and grief, alongside seemingly endless hits including December 1963, Beggin’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Sherry.

Powerful from start to finish, with superb acting and singing, Jersey Boys is a treat for any pop music fan. There were plenty up and dancing before the curtain fell.
