Having captivated theatre audiences since it first opened in Australia more than a decade ago, Dirty Dancing made a welcome return to Norwich Theatre Royal last week.

True fans were out in force for the opening night on Thursday, singing along to the show’s famous hits including (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life and Hungry Eyes.

While some of Dirty Dancing’s success lies in these hits and the seductive dance routines, its rite of passage storyline has mass appeal – taking people back to their teenage years.

Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman goes on holiday to New York’s Catskill Mountains as daddy’s girl, but comes away a leading lady, both onstage and off.

This show is energetic, raunchy, tinged with sadness and humour.

It has a fantastic cast, headed up by Jessie Hart and Lewis Kirk and outstanding choreography.

Dirty Dancing will leave you singing and dancing for days.
