Puccini’s romantic opera La bohème is coming to Garboldisham Village Hall next weekend as part of its tour across southern England. The Merry Opera Company brings Christopher Cowell’s new translation of Puccini’s La bohème to Garboldisham Village Hall next Saturday at 7.30pm for one night only.
La bohème, considered one of the greatest romances in opera is a captivating tale of the comedy of life, where a chance meeting leads to a desperate love affair.
It is through this heartbreaking story that the carefree exuberance of four young, penniless, Latin quarter students, mature into moments of jealously, anger and shock at the premature death of Rodolfo’s first love, the beautiful Mimi.
Director Christopher Cowell has created this translation especially for the Merry Opera with music director and conductor Harry Sever. Tickets are available for adults at £15, and under 18s at £7, from 01379 652241 or www.disscornhall.co.uk.
